Personalized Wellness Quiz - What Brightens Your Day?

Alaska’s state government had a problem. They offer their employees a rich benefits package, but employees weren’t using the benefits available to them. Benefits information is complicated, easy to skim and forget, so employees weren’t aware of all of the free programs and coverage options they had access to. Our mission was to find a way to educate the State of Alaska’s employees about their benefits in a way that was fun, accessible, and sticky.

After fully ingesting the dense and technical information required for the project, I settled on developing a quirky personality quiz. By bringing these abstract benefits into everyday situations, we were able to translate what made them special more effectively. Although everyone who plays the quiz receives information about the same benefits, the information is presented in a personalized way that corresponds to their personality and preferences.

On top of the challenge of understanding both the employee and retiree benefits packages, this project involved serious collaboration with government benefits administrators and our engineering and design teams.
