Follow the Breadcrumbs - An Interactive Walking Tour of Paris
The Summer and Winter Olympics are huge brand activation moments for Xfinity. Nothing gets people to upgrade their entertainment package like live sports, and Xfinity employees prepare for the rush of customers for months. I designed this game as the crown jewel of the employee education experience for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
All the brief asked for was an interactive experience that educated employees on the finer points of the Olympics Viewing Experience on Xfinity. What we delivered was an interactive walking tour of Paris led by the sensational character find of 2024, Christophe the Croissant, who taught employees about both Parisian landmarks and critical Xfinity UI elements. I concepted and designed the game myself, working closely with the art department to design Christophe and with the engineering team to figure out what was possible with our time and budget. Most importantly, I sourced a French friend of a friend of a friend’s child to voice Christophe in his few speaking lines.
Was it what the client expected? No. Did they love it? They made Christophe plushies, which I take as a yes. It took my educational writing skill, my ability to lead and collaborate with several teams, and my years-long Duolingo French streak to pull it off. I’m quite proud of this game and you can play it right here.
