Wisdom Explained

Wisdom is a smart home solution that helps older adults live independently without relying on invasive cameras or a clunky tool like a medallion they have to wear around their neck. It’s genuinely transformative technology, but it’s tricky to talk about. Older adults are resistant to anything that might undermine their dignity, and that’s exactly where this sort of product has fallen short in the past. To break through and create a video that could be used as an effective conversation starter, we had to tread lightly.

I worked very closely with the design and animation teams to make sure we established and kept the right tone throughout the whole piece—understated, understanding, and patient. “Explainer” videos seldom touch on emotion, but it’s impossible to avoid with this sort of subject matter. I’m proud of how this one came out.
